HIGHLIGHTS
- The property covers 5.3 km of strike extent of the west-northwest trending Victoria Creek Deformation Zone ("VCDZ"), which is a major structural unconformity. The VCDZ is host to the Victoria Creek gold deposit, 700 m west of Vault's Gauthier property, on which Sudbury Contact Mines Limited, one of the Agnico-Eagle group of companies, expended in excess of $20 million in development during the late 1990's.
- Northeast-trending structures that splay off of the VCDZ are thought to control mineralization at Queenston Mining Inc's Upper Beaver gold-copper deposit, located 500 m east of the Gauthier property. On September 22, 2008, Queenston announced an initial mineral resource on the Upper Beaver deposit, which includes 427,900 oz gold at 9.7 g/t (Indicated) and 291,300 oz gold at 8.5 g/t (Inferred).
- Preliminary compilation by Vault of previous exploration work on the property reveals untested geophysical anomalies along interpreted splays off of the VCDZ. These geophysical signatures are highly analogous to that of the Upper Beaver deposit.
ACCESS & PROPERTY SIZE
- The property is located 18 km northeast of Kirkland Lake via paved highways 66 & 672. The western property boundary lies 1 km of highway 672.
- The property is comprised of eighty-eight staked mining claims totaling approximately 1,400 hectares.
GEOLOGY
- Property geology is divided into two main assemblages: Lower Blake River mafic volcanics and Upper Larder Lake (Gauthier Group) felsic volcanics. The VCDZ represents an unconformity at the contact between the two assemblages.
- Several northeast trending IP & VLF conductors have been identified through the interpretation of ground geophysics. The trend of these conductors, in association with magnetic anomalies surrounding circular magnetic lows, is analogous to the magnetic signature and structures identified at the Upper Beaver gold deposit.
EXPLORATION & DEVELOPMENT PLANS
- Vault will commence a compilation of historical exploration work on the property and transfer any hard-copy data into digital format.
- Vault will assess the digital data and will develop an exploration plan to refine current targets for testing purposes.
